NEC enhances flagship professional PH Series with two laser light source projector models
Superb image quality, efficient operation capabilities and better return on investment through new laser-phosphor technology
Munich, 31 March, 2015 - NEC Display Solutions Europe is launching two high-end, professional, flagship 3-chip DLP laser projector models for use in the rental and staging, transportation, leisure and higher education sectors. The world’s most compact 4K laser projector with native 4K resolution, the NEC PH1201QL, and the 1080p laser projector, the NEC PH1202HL, both offer a long-lasting superb picture quality with enhanced colours and high brightness of 12,000 lumen. The two new flagship models, which were both successfully showcased at Integrated Systems Europe 2015 offer virtually maintenance-free operation by eliminating the need for lamp replacement. The addition of the two models further strengthens NEC’s unique market position, offering the broadest range of laser-phosphor projectors in the industry.
Organisations investing in laser light source projection today are seeking confidence in long-term investment through ease of installation and minimal maintenance fees while still experiencing excellent image quality. Both new high-end installation projectors are using NEC’s laser-phosphor technology that removes the need to buy or replace lamps, offering a lower total cost of ownership for businesses. They also offer low power consumption, a more constant light output and a typical lifetime of 20,000 hours, while maintaining a consistent level of outstanding image quality.
Gerd Kaiser, Product Line Manager Large Venue Projectors at NEC Display Solutions Europe comments: “Laser is the projector light source of the future. This is an extremely exciting development for the projector industry. For many years we have been striving to help organisations deliver an impressive visual experience while keeping costs low. So the advent of a heavy-duty projector that doesn’t require replacement lamps is a huge step forward, given the cost savings this brings over time. Whatever visual experience organisations need to create, they are seeking the best possible image quality, brightness uniformity, and a long-term return on their investment. That means using new laser technology that is reliable and flexible, yet built for longevity, without the high costs often associated with achieving that.”
The PH1201QL is the most compact 4K laser projector on the market and is therefore perfectly suited to the rental and staging industry. Its compact design offers ease of transportation, and better return on investment through reduced maintenance costs. It supports native 4K/ 60Hz signal and is perfectly suited to lecture halls, simulation, control room, large venue, museums or sports events thanks to its light weight (67kg) and flexible interface, and its support portrait modes. This flexibility, and its low power consumption at 1,6kW means every industry can guarantee a solid return on investment, however business needs change.
The PH1202HL projector offers digital cinema-like quality pictures, and can be used in portrait or landscape orientation. It features patented Heat Exchanger technology that prevents dust and smoke from entering the laser with a completely closed optical engine and laser engine, further enhancing return on investment, given the reduction in maintenance costs. Its rich feature set ensures the optimal picture quality, including the best 3DLP picture quality, 1080p resolution, easy and cost saving edge-blending and stacking setup without any external device. Additionally, the 4K signal interface with signal distribution and tiling function and support for future-proofed OPS modules to be added, provide a wide range of installation options to suit any professional environment.
