Outstanding 3MP greyscale display for primary diagnostics

NEC Display Solutions enhances MD Series with MD211G3 release

Munich, 4 June 2012 – NEC Display Solutions Europe has announced the launch of the NEC MD211G3, the first model of the next generation MD Series of medical grade displays, designed for the demanding rigours of primary diagnostics of medical images.

The MD211G3 is the successor to the MD213MG, delivering an enhanced 3MP greyscale 21.3-inch 2048 x 1536 display featuring the best possible SA-SFT (IPS) technology for the most stable viewing performance. An important addition is the unique 'Quick Screen QA' feature, which allows for easy and fast PC-independent quality assurance testing. Additionally, the in-built calibration front sensor and ambient light sensor have also been upgraded to allow for re-calibration according to the international IEC 62563-1 standard and the expected requirements of the new DIN 6868-157 standard.

The monitor is designed to meet the requirements for diagnostics image reporting in radiography, as well as including applications for image reporting in CT, MRI and medical imaging and Picture Archiving and Communication Systems (PACS) in hospitals, doctor offices, accident and emergency (A&E) care centres and other healthcare facilities.

Image consistency is assured through out-of-the-box factory DICOM calibration and uniformity control to provide accurate imaging across the screen and monitors for any inconsistencies, whilst the integrated front sensor constantly monitors and adjusts brightness to maintain the factory DICOM GSDF calibration. With a new DisplayPort connector and an ergonomic stand that allows for 150mm height-adjust, tilt, pivot and swivel, the display is easy to install and use.

The MD211G3 greyscale display is seamlessly integrated into the GammaCompMD QA software suite. This software performs routine display configuration and ensures consistent image quality conforming to all necessary quality assurance standards, either locally or over the network through the optional GammaCompMD QA Server.

The NEC model MD211G3 is a medical device Class I, following the requirements of the EU directive 93/42/EEC. To guarantee the display performance specified, the MD211G3 display must be used in conjunction with NEC approved display controller boards and drivers.

Availability and warranty
The NEC MD211G3 will be available from end of June 2012. Each unit includes the display, power cord, DVI-D to DVI-D signal cable, DisplayPort cable, USB cable, quick reference guide, CD-ROM with user guides and GammaCompMD Client QA software. NEC Display Solutions Europe offers a three-year pan-European service warranty including the backlight.
