Munich, 26 February 2013 NEC Display Solutions Europe will be showcasing its display technology for the most demanding digital medical imaging requirements at the European Congress of Radiology ECR 2013 trade fair at Austria Center Vienna. As the medical market is shifting from grayscale to colour displays for diagnostics as well as from classical CCFL to less power consuming and mercury-free LED backlights, NEC will demonstrate how its LED Colour support is helping the industry to transition, on booth Expo A, 105 (entrance level).

Regarded as one of the most innovative shows within the scientific community, ECR is the annual meeting of the European Society of Radiology (ESR), running from 7 – 11 March 2013 in Vienna, Austria. In 2012, the show attracted over 20,000 delegates from 102 countries. This year’s technical exhibition will be open from 8 – 11 March 2013.

"The medical imaging market is seeing a shift to new technologies such as LED backlights, and an acceleration from grayscale to colour, with innovative solutions, which now offer the best performance without compromising on reliability,” said Christopher Parker, Product Line Manager Professional Displays at NEC Display Solutions Europe.

NEC Display Solutions is proud to exhibit its Hospital-Wide product range of medical display solutions, including mammography displays, grayscale diagnostic displays, high brightness colour diagnostic displays, wide format clinical review displays, medical conference room solutions and large format Operating Room solutions with Kinect control.

Of particular note are the new recently launched MD211C2 and the new MD211C3 high brightness colour diagnostic displays, which use LED backlights and feature the easy to use Quick Screen QA feature for straightforward QA confirmation. The small front sensor automatically maintains brightness stability as well as DICOM conformance, and can be re-calibrated in line with the new IEC 62563-1 standard.

Similarly, the new 24-inch 2.3MP MD242C2 diagnostic display will also be highlighted on the stand. This display features dual input split-screen functionality, full DICOM compliance through an integrated front sensor and a high-end IPS-panel to assure reliable visual quality.

The latest version 5 of the GammaCompMD QA software suite will be showcased, which features a brand new, intuitive and simplified user interface (GUI). The display management suite delivers a complete quality assurance package to the new European IEC 62563-1 and the future DIN 6868-157 standards through the integrated QAXRAY module, and ensures best peace of mind through server archiving of all acceptance and constancy test protocols.

Visitors to the NEC Display Solutions Europe stand will meet company experts who can demonstrate and discuss the latest digital display systems advancements in NEC’s medical display range, optimised for diagnostics in radiography as well as CT, MRI, PET and other medical imaging modalities.

"We are constantly innovating to ensure we combine the latest display technology with guaranteed reliability and rigorous compliance techniques to satisfy the most demanding digital medical imaging requirements," concluded Christopher Parker.
