NEC NP216 beams gamers into the third dimension

3D projector from NEC Display Solutions gains NVIDIA certification

Munich, 26 August 2010 – The NP216 3D projector from NEC Display Solutions has gained NVIDIA 3D Vision TM Ready certification. This validates its complete compatibility with the 3D technology from the world’s leading company for visual computing technologies. Together with an image refresh rate of 120 Hz based on DLP ® Link technology, the DLP model satisfies all demands on a playback device in terms of high-quality graphical 3D gaming combined with great price performance ratio.

In 3D mode video games can push adrenaline levels even higher. Familiar games can unleash a whole new wave of fascination, as gamers can now position themselves right at the heart of these fantasy worlds. This is all made possible by 3D Vision, the award winning 3D technology from the market leader NVIDIA.

Combined with active shutter LCD glasses, a PC with a compatible GeForce graphics processing unit (GPU) and, of course, a certified 3D-enabled projector such as the NEC NP216, the results are unique, graphics-rich, three-dimensional applications in a whole new image quality. Users will enjoy playing over 425 existing PC games and, in addition, watching Blu-ray 3D movies or taking their own photographs, all in HD stereoscopic 3D.

With BrilliantColor™ and VIDI technology, the NEC NP216 ensures an excellent colour reproduction. These technologies also provide the perfect complement to the powerful NVIDIA graphics card. Thanks to the exceptional brightness of 2,500 ANSI lumens, as well as the high contrast ratio of 2,000:1, the projector delivers brilliant picture quality in XGA resolution (1,024x768). The user additionally benefits from a very low-cost investment, since the NP216 is reasonably priced and the DLP ® Link method means that special screens or filters aren’t needed for playback, nor is an emitter for synchronising glasses.
