First mobile LED projector delivers flexibility and portability in a slim and light form factor

NEC Display Solutions launches L50W LED mobile projector

Munich, 05 September 2011 – NEC Display Solutions Europe has announced the launch of the L50W, the company’s first mobile LED projector and the latest addition to its Office Cool portfolio.

Designed to provide flexible usage and smooth operation within a stylish design, the L50W uses an LED light source, ensuring it can remain lightweight with a minimal footprint, while still providing a bright and sharp image. This makes NEC’s new mobile projector ideal for anyone needing a portable projector for presentations and meetings, which fits seamlessly into the modern office environment. The LED technology also ensures fast start-up and shut-down with direct power off.

Weighing 1.2kg and measuring just 226mm by 174mm and 43mm deep, the L50W projector is easy to take anywhere, packing a range of functionality into an attractive chassis. The new projector supports connectivity over HDMI, VGA and RCA, but the built-in office viewer function means that most common presentations, documents, images or videos can be displayed directly from an SD card or USB thumb drive without the need for a laptop or PC. Audio is handled through a 2W speaker or external speakers can be connected through a standard 3.5mm jack.

With a brightness of 500 ANSI lumens and a contrast ratio of 2,500:1, the WXGA (1280x800) resolution DLP projector is the perfect solution for a range of mobile business scenarios and small-to-medium meeting rooms. The L50W also incorporates features such as a lens shutter, auto key-stone and a remote control to ensure presentations are easy to set up and execute.

In keeping with NEC’s Green Vision campaign, the use of an LED lamp not only means that the entire production process is mercury free, but that power usage is minimised, with the L50W drawing just 100W when in full use. Furthermore, users can expect around 20,000 hours use of the projector without changing the light source.

It also boasts a range of connectivity options and the built-in office viewer function means that most media can be displayed directly from a memory stick you can carry in your pocket.”

Availability and warranty
The L50W will be available starting in October 2011. Each unit includes the projector, power cord, user manual on CD-ROM and a remote control. NEC Display Solutions Europe offers a three-year pan-European service warranty including the LED lamp.
