NEC Display Solutions announces LED-backlit MultiSync ® EX231Wp super slim LCD display
Munich, 14 June 2011 – NEC Display Solutions Europe has announced the latest addition to its Office Cool range with the launch of the MultiSync ® EX231Wp, delivering trusted performance and quality, with new standards of minimalism and Eco Innovation.
With today’s offices becoming cleaner and more open with flexible and mobile workstations, it is increasingly the image itself and how it can be positioned that is the real priority to users. With this in mind, the focus of the Office Cool range, emphasised in the EX231Wp, is to create a range of displays that are minimalistic, and allow the image to take precedence.
The 23-inch wide PVA TFT LED Backlit display uses unique PVA panel technology to remain ultra-slim and light, while delivering outstanding picture quality with wide viewing angles.
With a depth of just 16.4mm - less than half that of its predecessor – the EX231Wp fits seamlessly into the stylish office environment and is easy to move around as required. The quick-release button enables stand removal and allows simple setup with the optional photo-frame stand. Furthermore, the super-thin, flat surface bezel not only ensures a seamless layout but also makes the new display perfect for multi-monitor layouts.
Despite being thin and light, the EX231Wp boasts a full high-definition resolution of 1920 x 1080, a 25,000:1 dynamic contrast ratio (3000:1 typical), a stunning 250 cd/m 2 brightness and minimized colour shift for crisp text, bright colours and pure imagery. Analogue and digital connectivity including DisplayPort offer greatest flexibility.
In keeping with NEC’s Green Vision , the MultiSync ® EX Series delivers performance with less material and packaging consumed, less waste produced, less harmful substances and less energy required for transportation. Innovations such as the human sensor which detects user activity in front of the monitor and reduces its power up to 94% with inactivity, the ambient light and auto-brightness sensors and ECO mode reduce the already low power consumption. The EX231Wp draws just 27W when in use, reduced to 15W in ECO mode. This is even less than the comparable TN product.

Availability and warranty
The EX231Wp will be available starting in July 2011. Each unit includes the display, power cord, user manual on CD-ROM, DVI-DVI cable, DVI-VGA cable, USB cable and AC Adaptor. NEC Display Solutions Europe offers a three-year pan-European service warranty including the backlight.
