Munich, 11 August, 2015 - NEC Display Solutions Europe is launching the laser phosphor projector P502HL, offering highly reliable and bright projection ideally suited to today’s changing learning environments. Perfect for large venues such as lecture halls or auditoriums, the projector offers higher education organisations peace of mind by minimising downtime.

Successfully showcased at Integrated Systems Europe 2015 earlier this year, the P502HL projector offers significant benefits of Solid State Light Source (SSL) technology. Higher education organisations value the benefits of cost-savings and high uptime offered by SSL, as it removes the need for lamp replacement and allows up to 20,000 hours maintenance free operation.

“Higher education organisations today make significant investments in projection technology as it’s a key aspect of the learning experience,” comments Ulf Greiner, Product Line Manager Business Projectors at NEC Display Solutions Europe. “Large learning environments using projection technology are in almost-constant use throughout the day and evening so reliability is crucial. Organisations need to know learning venues will not be disrupted at any point. Solid state lamp projection is a key technology in ensuring this.”

In addition to these benefits, the P502HL offers professional functionality that enhances the large-scale learning environment. Students and teachers can add interactivity by using the wireless sharing functionality delivered by Image Express Utility Light and Wireless Image Utility: up to 16 people can view share content and educators can switch between participant’s content. Miracast technology also enables images from mobile devices to be shared with the projector. This is particularly valuable for corporate users who can also benefit significantly from these features, adding interactivity and collaborative functionality.

The benefits of the P502HL projector also extend to other situations where long operating hours are key; large venues in corporate scenarios, museums, leisure, digital signage such as retail bank branches or quick serve restaurants, as well as simulation and control room scenarios. Investments for any industry are future-proofed thanks to the multiple inputs via HDBase-T and HDMI, and connectivity options including the advanced wireless options.

As well as the benefits of SSL, the P502HL offers flexibility through; a large 1.7x optical zoom, vertical and horizontal lens shift and keystone correction, free tilting and portrait mode and 3D support – all enabling different installation scenarios. Screen sizes can range from 30-300 inches, with a recommended size of approximately 140-inches in standard lighting conditions.

Availability
The NEC P502HL laser projector will be available end of August 2015.
