NEC Display Solutions enhances ultra-short-throw projector series for improved interactive collaboration

Schools and businesses set to enrich the learning and collaboration experience to meet growing challenges of a digital, mobile economy

Munich, 20 January, 2015 – NEC Display Solutions Europe has launched four additions to its UM Series of ultra-short-throw LCD projectors. This is in response to the growing need for better collaboration and greater interactivity in schools and the workplace.

The new products, UM301W, UM301X, UM351W and UM361X, offer significant improvements in terms of performance and cost of ownership. They continue to eradicate shadow and glare and have brighter, dynamic images, with up to 3.600 ANSI lumens brightness. They also eliminate the need for external audio systems with an integrated 20W speaker, which is a 25 per cent improvement over earlier models. Furthermore, they come with two HDMI inputs, one of them supporting MHL, making it easy for presenters to connect their smart devices to the projectors and when using multiple digital sources.

The new models also include table top projection capabilities, which allows people to work on interactive tables, and set-up of the products is quick and easy thanks to auto-calibration. All four models are also available with Multi-Pen Interactivity and the WXGA models also come with touch support. The optional NP03Wi Multi-Pen Kit can also be added retrospectively and turns the UM Series projector into an interactive whiteboard solution that works on any surface. Touch capabilities can also be added with the optional NP01TM Multi-Touch unit, available from March 2015.

Until May 2015 all interactive solutions are also accompanied by a free DisplayNote 5 connection licence. DisplayNote allows the user to not only highlight and annotate, but also present from a mobile device. The multi-user licence enables truly collaborative scenarios using Windows, MAC, iOS and Android devices.

The UM Series projectors are in line with NEC’s Green Vision offering a longer lamp life and, together with lower power consumption and the low maintenance design, all these factors result in a minimised total cost of ownership.

Availability
The new NEC UM Series range of projectors will be available across EMEA from January 2015.
