Slimmer, enhanced next generation displays add OPS support and new options for professional customers

NEC Display Solutions updates MultiSync ® P Series public display range

Munich, 25 July 2011 NEC Display Solutions Europe has announced the next generation of professional MultiSync ® P Series public displays , delivering slimmer units with added support modules based on the Open Pluggable Specification (OPS).

Designed for a wide array of applications the upcoming P402, P462 and P552 add improved daisy chaining features, a pair of 10W built-in speakers and NEC’s dual slot technology – which allows for the integration of single board computers and other option slot products based on the current NEC and new NEC/Intel OPS standard without the need to stow external equipment – all in a chassis that is 37mm thinner than its predecessors.

The high-contrast, premium-grade panels, industrial-strength design and powerful new connectivity and OSD features, make these displays ideal for heavy-duty operation such as mission critical retail signage, transport applications, control room applications, conference rooms, lobby/reception installations and integration in totems and furniture.

As well as incorporating all the same unique features as their predecessors - such as ambient light sensors, thermal management, remote management over LAN and email alerts - the new P Series models have the ability to digitally daisy chain displays over DVI and DisplayPort offers high flexibility at no extra cost, perfect for video walls or back to back installations.

Measuring 40-, 46- and 55-inches respectively, they all support full HD content with a native resolution of 1920x1080, 8ms response time and a brightness of up to 700 cd/m 2 . As well as a variety of analogue connection options, all three of the displays include DVI-D (with HDCP), HDMI 1.3 and DisplayPort connectors to ensure content can be delivered from a variety of sources. This advanced connectivity, combined with the built-in expansion slot, enables users to easily connect components and build a video wall up to 100 displays to maximise the impact on the audience.

“These new MultiSync ® P Series displays continue to highlight the innovation that NEC puts at the core of all of its displays, and are perfect for places that require a combination of dazzling images and the highest level of display management ,” said Thorsten Prsybyl, Product Line Manager Public Displays at NEC Display Solutions Europe.

“Meeting the requirements for rugged use, the next generation P Series displays are also available with high quality, hardened protection glass, while enabling monitoring and administration from a remote location with the most advanced control and communication options available.”
