Combines IPS panel excellence with LED backlighting for superb performance

Munich, 27. September 2013 – NEC Display Solutions Europe is helping healthcare professionals deliver reliable and high quality patient care with the addition of an advanced 24-inch LCD display to its MDview Series , which incorporates the latest display technologies to provide an even clearer image.

The 2.3MP NEC MDview243 combines a high-resolution in plane switching (IPS) LCD panel with LED backlighting to guarantee maximum precision and colour accuracy in clinical review. The inclusion of LED backlighting means lower power consumption and a longer lifespan.

"The NEC MDview Series displays are DICOM preset colour displays that have been designed with reliable image quality, application flexibility and affordability in mind," said Shinji Nohara, Medical Solution Manager at NEC Display Solutions Europe.

"These displays also contain unique built-in firmware features, which you will not find in off-the-shelf or system-bundled, to optimise image accuracy. Furthermore, features such as the programmable USB hub, dual-input – for side-by-side display of two independent image feeds – and future-proof connectivity options ensure the display can be matched to each user’s individual requirements."

Crucially for clinical review displays, the MDview243 ships with factory-settings that meet the DICOM standard, ensuring it is ready for immediate use. Digital Uniformity Control and Backlight Ageing Correction ensure white point control with consistent image quality. The GammaCompMD QA client software - supplied with the display - simplifies maintenance, calibration and documentation. These features ensure that the LCD displays satisfy the requirements for acceptance and constancy tests throughout their entire service lives.

Designed for PACS referral, the NEC MDview243 is not intended to be used for diagnostic image viewing, as it is not a medical device according to MDD 93/42/EC.

Availability and warranty
The NEC MDview243 display is available from September through NEC Display Solutions and certified medical trade resellers. Each unit includes the display, power cord, quick reference guide, GammaCompMD QA software on DVD, DVI-D to DVI-D cable, VGA-VGA cable and DisplayPort cable. NEC Display Solutions Europe offers a three-year warranty, which also covers the backlight.
