NEC Display Solutions adds LED backlighting and new features to MultiSync ® V Series public display range

Munich, 17 January 2013 – NEC Display Solutions Europe announces several new additions to its popular MultiSync ® V Series range of public displays, once again setting new standards in the professional entry-level segment with the introduction of LED backlighting.

Building on the success of last year's overhaul of the V Series public displays, the new rock solid V423, V463, V552 and flagship V652 all boast a slimmer and lighter design despite a full metal chassis, a narrower bezel, and support for landscape and portrait orientation. This small, but very important feature allows the displays to be easily configured in any scenario.

As one may expect, the introduction of LED backlighting into the V Series reduces power consumption significantly. This is augmented by the inclusion of an ambient light sensor, while a thermal management design, including user controllable fans for extreme installations, ensures the longest possible lifetime of the display and offers more flexibility than any other competitor.

The new V Series public display models can also automatically send an email to a specified address in the unlikely event a problem is detected. For example, this means that in the case of a fan failure, or power supply issues the owner can detect problems before the screen fails and fix any problems quickly. This feature even monitors the supplied signal and can alert the service staff if the player connected to the screen stops sending a signal.

All four of the new additions now support NEC's STv2 OPS option slot, which allows for the integration of single board computers and other option slot products such as HDSDI interfaces based on the NEC/Intel OPS standard without the need to stow external equipment.

"NEC’s new V Series raises the bar for entry-level public displays. The inclusion of LED backlighting into a thinner and lighter professional model with a narrower bezel make these new additions a compelling option for customers looking for good value for money with high expectations in configurability, reliability and longevity,” said Thorsten Prsybyl, Product Line Manager Public Displays at NEC Display Solutions Europe.

“Also, added support for features like the ambient light sensor, automatic email alerts and a second generation option slot all round out this new offering, providing users with the tools they require to effectively communicate to their audience with a good ROI.”
