About NaViSet Administrator 2

NaViSet Administrator 2 is the next generation of our network based control and asset management system for display devices. This version supports the asset reporting, monitoring and control of the following displays:

NEC Desktop displays connected to Windows computers
NEC Large screen LCD displays connected to a LAN via the built in LAN connection
NEC Large screen LCD displays connected via RS232 to networked Windows computers
NEC Projectors connected directly to a LAN via the built in LAN connection
NEC Projectors connected via RS232 to networked Windows computers
PJLink compatible devices connected directly to a LAN

The NaViSet Administrator system includes the necessary remote software components to facilitate these various connection methods. These are included on the install media.

The main application is designed to run from a central location and will provide remote monitoring and control functionality of remote displays. It uses a database to store information about all of the remote displays and Windows computers, and provides controls to access many of the functions on the various types of displays.

Known Issues

Firmware Updates:
NaViSet Administrator is tested prior to release on devices with up-to-date firmware. Certain features have been added to enable additional functionality to some display models. These may require firmware to be updated in the device. The table below shows the minimum firmware versions required for given features and models.

System Requirements

Operating System	32 and 64 bit versions of Microsoft Windows 7 / 8 / 8.1 / 10, and Windows Server 2008 / 2012 / 2016.
LAN	Standard TCP/IP LAN interface. Static IP addresses required for most displays connected directly to LAN, unless name resolution (hostname) support is provided.
System Resources	At least 64MB available hard-disk space for installation. Approximately 50MB per 100 devices hard-disk space required for database storage. At least 96MB RAM (192MB recommended).
Software	Adobe Reader X or higher is recommended for viewing the User’s Guide. Open Hardware Monitor (optional) for monitoring computer temperature and fan status. www.openhardwaremonitor.org

Supported Display Devices

NaViSet Administrator 2 supports the following display models:

NEC desktop display models
NEC large-screen display series: UN, UX, X, P, V, C, S, CB, BT421, and LCDxx20 (see Notes below).
NEC projector models with a LAN or RS232 connection.
PJLink compatible devices with a LAN connection.

Notes:

NEC E series of large-screen display models without a built-in LAN connection are not supported.

The Proof of Play feature is available on Large-screen display models P801, Pxx3, Pxx4, Vxx4, Xxx4, Xxx5, Xxx1UHD, Pxx4Q, Vxx4Q, UNxx2, and Cxx1Q.

Fix a bug causing Auto ID detection failure when the monitor ID is greater than 10.
Allow entry of fully qualified domain names (FQDNs) when adding single devices.
Fix email notification formatting issue preventing delivery using smtp.mail.yahoo.co.jp and possibly other SMTP servers.

Use tree branch animations to show the statuses of all devices with open connections or pending connections.
Show additional details for device tree tooltips. Update opened tooltips dynamically whenever the information changes.
Retry failed device connection attempts when running tasks and reports. The number of retries and time between retries are user configurable.
Improved email delivery error checking and email status reporting.
Enhancements to the Alerts table, including showing realtime email delivery statuses and additional context menu items and tooltips.
Improve the process of stopping tasks and closing the application when tasks are running.
Add the capability to schedule tasks to start at minute and second intervals.

Added "Proof of Play" audio and video signal monitoring capabilities (requires models that support Proof of Play).

Greatly enhanced support for NEC projectors.
Added the capability to copy user selected control settings from one device to one or more other devices. Both interactive and task based copy operations are supported.
Added support for higher DPI settings (large text).
The MAC address of LAN connected devices will now be updated on Full Refreshes.
A Mac OS X version of this product is now available beginning with this release.

Suppress the "powered off" warning message for projectors that are already powered off.
Added support for localized "Check for Updates" information.
Bug Fix - Scheduled tasks were not being rescheduled after a system date/time change or when a system woke up from sleep mode.
Bug Fix - Scheduled tasks were sometimes randomly unscheduled for no reason.
Bug Fix - Some messages were using the forward slash character instead of a backward slash in path names.
Bug Fix - Closing a dock window by clicking on its tab sometimes caused additional dock windows to close as well.
Bug Fix - Fixed the way lamp usage hours are determined for certain projector models.
