Advanced laser projection to power immersive open-air cinema at the Louvre

Munich July 1, 2025 Sharp NEC Display Solutions Europe is proud to once again partner with the Festival Cinéma Paradiso, providing cutting-edge cinema projection for its fifth edition. Held from July 2nd to July 5th, 2025, in the iconic Cour Carrée of the Louvre Museum, the festival will feature the NEC NC3541L RB laser projector to deliver a truly unforgettable cinematic experience under the stars.

The Festival Cinéma Paradiso Louvre invites over 10,000 guests to enjoy four nights of open-air screenings, live music, and gourmet food in a setting unlike any other. Co-produced by mk2 and the Musée du Louvre, the event is part of the broader “Les Étés du Louvre” summer series, which also includes concerts beneath the Pyramid, theatrical performances, and dance in the Cour Lefuel.

Attendees will witness breathtaking visuals powered by Sharp/NEC’s NC3541L RB, the first RB laser projector designed for premium large-scale screens up to 32 meters. With native 4K resolution, vivid color reproduction, and exceptional contrast, the projector transforms each screening into an immersive experience.

"With Cinéma Paradiso Louvre, our goal is to reimagine the magic of cinema in a historic setting – bringing people together for shared moments of awe and emotion," says Elisha Karmitz, CEO of mk2. "Our collaboration with top-tier technology partners like Sharp/NEC is essential to achieving that vision."

"We’re delighted to continue our partnership with the Festival Cinéma Paradiso Louvre," adds Jens Kayser, Head of Cinema EMEA at Sharp NEC Display Solutions Europe. "The unique location and atmosphere demand the highest image quality, and our RB laser projection technology is perfectly suited to deliver an outstanding visual experience for all attendees."
