NEC MultiSync ® EX231W gains iF product design award 2011
Munich, 20 January 2011 – The NEC MultiSync ® EX231W LCD display has won the renowned iF product design award 2011, which is given for outstanding design achievements. This seal of quality is awarded each year by an international jury of experts and is one of the world's most important design accolades. The prize-winning design of the NEC monitor was created by Japanese industrial designer Naoto Fukasawa. In 2003, Naoto Fukasawa established Naoto Fukasawa Design. While collaborating with representative brands in Italy, Germany, France, Switzerland, Scandinavia and Asian countries for their product developments, he is also consulting both national and international companies. Fukasawa has won many awards internationally and, in 2007, he was accorded the title of Honorable Royal Designer for Industry (Royal Society of Arts). Since 1992, Fukasawa has been designing MultiSync ® monitor series for NEC.
The iF product design award is given based on clearly defined criteria such as quality of design, quality of workmanship, degree of innovation, environmental sustainability and ergonomics. It provides guidance for consumers wishing to make a decision for award-winning design. The NEC MultiSync ® EX231W office display impressed the expert jury in the category “05 Computers”.
