Comprehensive DICOM compliant medical display portfolio

NEC to showcase medical display expertise at ECR 2012

Munich, 22 February 2012 NEC Display Solutions Europe will be showcasing its comprehensive range of innovative medical solutions at the European Congress of Radiology (ECR) 2012 in Vienna, Austria from 2 - 5 March 2012: Expo A, Booth 105 (Entrance Level).

ECR is the largest European radiology exhibition and is well known as one of the most innovative meetings within the scientific community, embedded in a unique and inspiring ambience. This year, for the first time, those unable to attend the show will be able to watch several major ECR sessions that will be streamed and recorded via the ESR website, with Facebook and Twitter options integrated into the web interface to provide a fully interactive experience.

NEC Display Solutions will exhibit its hospital wide product range of medical display solutions, including mammography displays, greyscale diagnostic displays, high brightness colour diagnostic displays, wide format clinical review displays, new large format OR display as well as the latest installation projectors.

“Last year’s congress brought over 20,000 people from 96 countries to see what 307 exhibitors from 52 countries had to offer, and to jointly discuss the latest innovations in the world of radiology. This makes it the perfect platform to showcase our portfolio of DICOM compliant display solutions for hospitals, clinics and radiological practices,” said Christopher Parker, Product Line Manager Professional Displays at NEC Display Solutions Europe.

“In medical environments, the right technology can be crucial to saving lives. Advancements in this area require a perfect balance of innovation and rigorous technical and QA conformance if they are to meet the high visual specifications and rigid standards necessary for radiological and clinical viewing, which NEC strives to constantly deliver.”

Of particular note is the new MD461OR, a large format operating room display with DICOM calibration and full CE-MDD compliance, bringing a much-needed digital display performance to the operating room. Similarly, the new 24-inch 2.3MP MDview241 clinical review display and a new 3D-capable U310W installation projector will also be highlighted on the stand, alongside the latest release of the QAXRAY module as part of the newly refreshed GammaCompMD QA version 4 software solution, which delivers complete quality assurance to the new European IEC 62563-1 and the future DIN 6868-157 standards.

Taking place each March in Vienna, this year’s ECR show is expected to be the biggest ever, and features a range of technical and innovative aspects including a photography competition, the Rising Star programme for students and residents and the IMAGINE Workshop, which gives research institutes, university groups and industrial companies a chance to present their novel and exciting technological developments. The comprehensive programme will ensure there is something of interest to every attendee, including the La vita è bella (Life is Beautiful) party as the grand finale.
