NEC Display Solutions overhauls budget-friendly projector range with V-series launch

NEC to announce V-series projectors

Munich, 12 April 2011 – NEC Display Solutions Europe has today unveiled its V-series line of projectors as an update to its existing NP216 value projector range. The V-series debuts with six models designed specifically for entry-grade environments such as small business meeting rooms and classrooms.

The V-series aims to meet the individual needs of a wide variety of users, including models with resolutions of 800x600 (SVGA), 1204x768 (XGA) and 1280x800 (WXGA), a 2,000:1 contrast ratio and a brightness range from 2,300 to 3,000 ANSI Lumens (AL). All V-series projectors have excellent colour reproduction thanks to BrilliantColor TM and VIDI technology and are 3D capable thanks to support for 120Hz DLP technology, allowing teachers and presenters to offer an even more engaging experience that helps viewers more intimately connect with the subject matter. The 3,000 AL models additionally are Nvidia certified, ensuring plug and play operation especially for 3D gaming and 3D photography.

The new range also boasts strong environmental credentials and unbeatable cost of ownership, as verified by the TCO certification for the XGA models. Furthermore, lamp life is up to 5,000 hours using ECO Mode, which also lowers power consumption. The remote includes a green ECO Mode button that works in conjunction with the carbon footprint meter to encourage the use of the Eco mode. Additionally the carbon footprint meter provides verified results about the carbon savings per session as well as the accumulated results over the lifetime of the projector. For added flexibility and as a solution for the common problem of lost remote controls, NEC has also added its unique virtual remote software to allow users to control the projector via the VGA cable.

A wide range of connectivity options, including HDMI and wired network connectivity allow users to display content from several devices or sources at a time without needing to connect and disconnect cables repeatedly. The HDMI connector also ensures that getting a high quality visual and audio output is as simple as connecting one cable.

“NEC’s new V-series offers great value for money and covers a wide range of applications from classrooms, to fixed or mobile meeting rooms and can be used for cross-over purposes such as gaming or social events,” said Ulf Greiner, Product Line Manager Business Projectors at NEC Display Solutions Europe. “Teachers and professional users alike will like the addition of wide-screen as well as higher brightness models, HDMI and virtual remote, in order to make this series even more versatile and functional, providing them with the tools they need to effectively communicate to their audience without breaking the bank.”
