NEC Display Solutions Customer Installation Corporate

Scout24

State of the art conferencing facilities

Scout24 is driven by agility - the company leads the digital real estate and automotive marketplaces across Germany and other European countries, advising users regarding decisions relating to their new home or car. A recent office move means new meeting and conferencing rooms at the company’s Munich site offer even greater agility and efficiency.

The Challenge

A race against time

“Our employees often entered meeting rooms with some trepidation – do the screens work? Can the content be shared without any difficulty? We wanted to dispel these worries once and for all,” explains Andreas Handzik, System Engineer in the Group Employee Tech department at Scout24.

Time was of essence however, the technical planning didn’t take shape until August 2017. “We needed a partner who could deliver reliable, durable and high-quality hardware despite the short lead scale.” macom GmbH took over the project and planning management. Having enjoyed a good experience in the past, the expert for specialist media technology planning recommended conference solutions from NEC Display Solutions. This developed into broader collaboration with a/c/t Beratungs & System GmbH, Systema Gesellschaft für angewandte Datentechnik mbH, and PRO VIDEO, a systems house for media technology, broadcast engineering and conference equipment. In the end, a total of 104 NEC displays and projectors were integrated into the Scout24 rooms. The office space solutions also perfectly reflect the image of the modern, young company.

The NEC Solution

Packing a punch for conferences

As soon as customers and partners enter the reception area on the fifth floor, they are welcomed by a video wall comprising six large-format MultiSync® X464UNV-3 displays. The reliable monitors deliver precise images at all times, even when left on continuously. Depending on the occasion, they can also display logos or the latest commercials for the Scout24 brands and be conveniently managed centrally via the network-based control and management software, NaViSet Administrator 2. Surrounded by around 1,500 toy cars fixed to the wall (contributed in part by the employees) the frameless displays show visitors the way, in a playful manner, to four public conference rooms.

An additional 31 rooms are available to employees for internal meetings and conferences. Depending on how big the groups are, teams can book rooms of different sizes. For presentations and video conferences all the meeting rooms are equipped with a double-screen setup with two 55-inch MultiSync® C551 displays or two 65-inch UHD displays, depending on the size of the rooms. Its slim frame and lean design allows the C551 to fit perfectly into the smaller modern meeting rooms. With a resolution of 3840 × 2160, the MultiSync® X651UHD-2 displays deliver „pixel-free“ images in the larger meeting rooms. Thanks to reliable and highly durable components, both models handle continuous operation with ease.

In addition to the 43 small meeting rooms, a total of seven “market places” provide a space to retreat, where work groups and teams can discuss in a relaxed atmosphere. Each of the areas is equipped with comfortable step seating in an amphitheater style and video walls comprising four 46-inch displays. “We mainly use the displays in the market places for internal communication. We show photos here, for example, from recent events or use them for internal information,” Handzik explains. “If necessary, presentations can of course also be shown on the video walls, or they can be used for video conferences.” For that, the employees can simply connect to the displays wirelessly or via HDMI.

Informing the entire team

Two assembly areas, the “Hockenheimring” and the “Nordschleife” are available for large employee meetings. Two P502HL-2 laser projectors display content on the screens in Hockenheimring. The projectors impress with their high-contrast images even in difficult lighting conditions and various stages of daylight. Thanks to a laser light source, they can operate maintenance-free for more than 20,000 hours. In addition to the long life of the projectors, the technical specialists at Scout24 benefit from a high degree of operational safety and low maintenance costs, since there are no expensive lamps to replace. To ensure that all employees have an unobstructed view of the information being presented, two NEC MultiSync® P703 displays can also be added at the back. Another MultiSync® P703 is available in the Nordschleife room. The monitor stands out due to its size and image quality and is therefore ideal as a supplement or alternative to projectors in very bright conference rooms.

The Result

Right on target

The installation of all the NEC solutions was complete in time for the move in March. “The move took place almost entirely over one weekend, complete with all the technical hardware. With the final touches on the day of the move, all the solutions were up and running smoothly at 8:20 a.m.,” Handzik reports. “Our thanks go to NEC for the smooth collaboration. We can well imagine other projects in the future with such a reliable partner.”
