Mission Possible with NEC’s Solutions Innovation Vehicle

NEC employs mobility and adaptability to demonstrate its innovative Display Solutions

London, 5 July 2011 - Having just returned from a grueling 4,000 mile road trip across Scandinavia, NEC’s Solutions Innovation Vehicle (SIV) is loaded and off on its next mission. In testament to NEC quality Japanese components and robust engineering, fixed product installations within the vehicle are performing as well now as they did when it received a recent re-fit with NEC’s latest innovative solutions.

The NEC SIV set off from Dover on June 1st crossing to Dunkirk to begin its epic journey visiting seven key cities across Norway, Finland, Sweden and Denmark. The first event took place on 6th June in Bergen, Norway where NEC representatives hosted a mix of resellers, distributors and end users with a seminar addressing how NEC, a display solutions market leader, can offer business opportunities through innovative AV solutions.

The roadshow moved on with similar events in Stavanger, Oslo, Göteborg and Stockholm, then an overnight ferry to Helsinki and finally a 29 hour ferry crossing to Copenhagen. Current and prospective customers and channel partners of NEC Scandinavia were impressed by NEC’s unique sales tool which received visits from big players within the car industry and energy sector plus several universities and hospitals alongside professional AV partners. A leading Danish supplier of IT infrastructure was so impressed with the SIV that they have invited NEC to attend their show in September addressing over 1,000 Danish end users.

Erica Robertsson, Product Manager for NEC in the Nordics commented, ‘The NEC SIV looks very professional and is a great tool to demonstrate products and to actively demonstrate solutions to the customers.’ Erica went on to say ‘This is my fourth roadshow, the first with NEC, and I have figured out the formula to create a successful road show. NEC succeeds with a strong product portfolio combined with committed and hardworking people!’

With the SIV, NEC is able to exhibit its portfolio of solutions through on-site, hands-on demonstration, wherever it is required. Great benefits lie in its mobility and adaptability, it is the perfect roadshow resource, taking NEC to end users, resellers and distributors for training, demonstrations and events. Hugely adaptable, the SIV has recently undergone a re-fit and currently showcases a number of fixed installations including a 2 x 2 video wall and an ultra short throw projector with interactive whiteboard. These can be supplemented by any variation of product solution to tailor the resource to a specific audience. It is this adaptability which allows NEC to demonstrate its product portfolio highlighting its commitment to addressing the needs of vertical sectors.

Neale Williams, Business Development Manager for NEC Display Solutions UK who accompanied the SIV on the Tour-de-Scandinavia and experienced the punishing mountain passes and ice fields en route, returned to the UK on June 17th. ‘The terrain we encountered was a trial for anybody but I am delighted how well the NEC products stood up to the test. NEC is a quality brand, truely up to the job in the harshest of environments.‘

In great demand from NEC’s channel partners, the SIV is frequently seen at events across the UK. Currently at NEC’s Service Centre in Telford, resellers are invited to learn about NEC technical support services with a tour of the plant whilst the SIV showcases Display Solutions for business, education, retail, healthcare and creative applications.
