Demonstrating commitment to education sector with new appointment

NEC Display Solutions appoints Education Account Manager

London, 7 February 2013 – NEC Display Solutions strives to steer the growth of technology in the education environment with display solutions that add life, reality and interactivity to the curriculum. In support of its commitment to the education sector, NEC Display Solutions has a dedicated education sales and support team which has now been further strengthened through the appointment of Jon Garaway as Education Account Manager.

With over 12 year’s experience working in the education sector, Garaway has seen the increased use of interactive touch in the classroom and in small group learning areas and witnessed how it has truly benefited pupils and teachers through engagement with the teaching material - “learning can be fun!” Garaway comments. Garaway previously worked at Epson, liaising with end users across BSF, local authorities, schools, colleges and universities in the North of England and Scotland. Having also worked at reseller XMA, Garaway understands the challenges faced by the channel in the education sector.

“The great thing about NEC is that we can supply a fantastic array of screens, displays and projectors that we know are class leading, both for image quality and reliability,” states Garaway. “As a total solutions provider, we can also offer software tools such as DisplayNote for collaborative working, which demonstrates our commitment to understanding the classroom environment and providing the resources that the teaching and learning teams will find of great benefit in their day to day roles.”

Welcoming Garaway to the NEC education team, Neil Hartigan, channel director comments : “Jon has many years of experience in selling AV solutions to the education sector. He has an understanding of what is required within the various levels of education and of the rules of engagement for each. Jon brings with him many relationships not only at end user level but also within the reseller channel.”
