À compter du 2 novembre 2020, les transactions ont été finalisées afin de former une coentreprise alliant Sharp et NEC Display Solutions Ltd. NEC Display Solutions a lancé son activité en tant que filiale de Sharp pour changer de nom et devenir Sharp NEC Display Solutions.
- Dès le 1er avril 2007, NEC Corporation, NEC Viewtechnology, Ltd. et NEC Display Solutions, Ltd. avait convenu de fusionner l'activité moniteurs d'affichage de NEC Display Solutions et l'activité projecteurs de NEC Viewtechnology mais aussi l'activité Plasma au sein d'une toute nouvelle entreprise de solutions d'affichage.
